Using the Templates in Final Cut Pro
Chapter 25 of the Final Cut Pro user manual has detailed instructions on using Apple’s Master Template feature. This tutorial reviews the basics. If you run into issues with using Templates check out our support page to see if it covers your problem.
By selecting Sequence > Add Master Template you can access the Template Browser. In the Template Browser can watch preview movies for each template, which is helpful:
Please note that as of writing you need to select Show: All to view the templates in the Template Browser for Drop Zones Vol 1 and Drop Zones Cubed:
You can also access Master Templates via the effects browser:
Drag the Master Templates from the Effects Browser to your Timeline.
Double-click the Master Template on your Timeline to call it into the Viewer, then click the Controls Tab:
Drag and drop media to the Drop Zone well from the Browser, the Timeline or the Finder:
Select the Video Tab of the Viewer window to watch the template play in close-to real-time before rendering.
That should do it.
